- The following includes some personal extrapolation on the information I have, the facts are outlined at the end of this post -Release date: There isn't one. They were planning on having it out late this year early next year but the album is not done and noone knows exactly when it will be done. However, it seems that they are now aiming for a May-June release.
Promotion: Expect plenty of promotion. There wasn't much promotion last year as she didn't want to do an interview, but consideringshe is willing to give one now that shouldn't be an issue. She will give interviews and will likely do talk shows as well. Also expect a promotionaltour, but not an actual tour. Britney is trying to focus on her family and on her artistic image, so I don't expect her to do an actual tour.
Additionally interviews are still under restrictions, question wise, but nowhere as much as before.
What kind of music to expect: She is not doing another Blackout album or an In The Zone for that matter. But don't worry, she isalso not doing Circus, or anything you have heard from her before. It will still be in her genre and it will still sound like her but she isexperimenting. This album seems to be a search for the next big thing in music. The producers she has chosen along with lyricists point to an all newmusic vibe for her. Also, because she has recorded a huge selection of songs so far but still doesn't have enough for an album points to either apicky selection process (which again makes one believe it is due to the search for the next big thing) or it points to a double CD album.
What Else?: Expect an ITZ like contribution from her on productions and on the song writing aspect. The theme for this era is allabout Britney the artist, and I believe they can't achieve that without that kind of contribution. Her team and her probably also know that, hencewhy I expect her to have contributed a lot. Also, expect her to contribute much more on her music videos. Don't be shocked if she co-directs one ortwo, and specially don't be shocked if she does more artistic videos.
The theme, Britney the artists, also makes me expect more form her on the fashion front; such as expanding her clothing line and many more high endmagazine covers.
Finally, how do I know all of this? Some of you may remember my post on the magazine outlines I saw at work. Well, the curious person that I am, I asked around work and tried to gather someinformation. Turns out, the magazine cover issue was scrapped a while back as Britney's album was not ready. They didn't want her to give aninterview and create hype before her album's release is near so they cancelled the shoot and the interview.
However, as with all interviews, the magazine had gathered some back story and interviewed people from her team for information before interviewingBritney. The above information all comes from what I gathered. Most of it is my extrapolation since as with all information gathering interviews thepeople only hinted at things but did not say them explicitly.
Things that are not my extrapolation and are fact (as far as I know) are:- the focus on Britney the artist. That's what her team said this era will be about.
- the album release being mid next year. That became relevant when they said she was still recording and was not ready for the interview.
- the album focusing on the next big thing. They said Britney was experimenting with new styles of music.
- her focusing on her family. They said she loves her kids and wants to be near them as they grow up. This makes me think there won't be a tour thisera.
- restrictions on interviews. The only restriction they had given for this interview was that should Britney feel uncomfortable to answer anyquestions, she could refuse and they would have to edit that question out. This seems like a much more relaxed policy than the one they had lastera.
- Britney working with many producers and recording many songs. I don't recall the list of the producers, but there were many mentioned. She hadworked with all of them for this album, so I can only imagine she has recorded many songs so far.
